We had a very insightful chat with Doug Jackson, author of Caligula, on YouWriteOn.com, the writing community website his historical fiction debut evolved of.  Read the discussion here!

Charles MartinThis month we have a great interview with Charles Martin, author of Where the River Ends on our Hot Spot page. The Hot Spot is a great opportunity to ask an author any questions that may have cropped up during your own reading or a reading group session.  We have a fantastic archive of previous Hot Spot authors, including Mark Haddon, Arthur Golden and Rose Tremain.

On our Special Features page, Sophie Gee, author of The Scandal of the Season, views the past with a modern eye. The Special Features page generally focuses on a topic, author or genre that we think will be of interest to reading groups. Again we have a fantastic archive of previous features, from recommended reading from Katie Fforde and other leading women’s fiction writers, to a run down of our best European crime novels, to ways to spice up your reading group discussions.

Click on our Reading Guides page, and you will find a comprehensive list of downloadable reading guides. Containing an author biography, story synopsis, author interview, discussion points, and suggested further reading, they really are an excellent resource to kick start a lively reading group discussion.

On top of all this, we have a fantastic opportunity to win either Where the River EndsThe Road Home or Songs of Blue and Gold for you and your reading groups! Check out our Competition page, answer a simple question and you’ll be in with a chance to be a winner.

If you are a reading group first-timer, take a look at our Top Tips page.   Here you will find helpful ideas on how to join an established reading group or start your own with ease.   Once you’ve got your reading group going, our Host with the Most page will show you how to prepare tasty snacks to really impress them with your culinary skills!

Read on and enjoy!
